Everyday Tips For Incredible Hair (Pt. 1)

When it comes to keeping your hair looking and feeling its best, we want to give you all the tools and knowledge that you need! Having your best hair takes a bit of work so we put together some pretty top notch tips and tricks to make sure that you don’t have do overwork to keep things looking shiny, smooth, and strong. Even adapting just one or two of these tips can change your life, and your hair, for the better.

Condition Before Exposure

As we look forward to those sunny and hot days on the beach or sitting poolside, we can tell you that your hair isn’t feeling the same way. Being exposed to harmful rays and intense heat, not to mention the chemicals or salt water, can dry out your hair and make it brittle. Instead of swapping in your towel and bikini for long days indoors, try getting your hair damp and adding a bit of conditioner. Smooth the conditioner through your hair and feel confident knowing that your hair is being protected during your fun in the sun.

Turn Down The Heat

We all know that the styling, blow drying, and straight ironing routines wreck havoc on your hair (try a heat protectant to mitigate damage), but that isn’t what we are talking about here. Most people tend to shower in hot water, which feels nice, but can also strip your hair of its softness and its shiny look. We aren’t saying you have to take cold showers from here on out, instead at the end of your shower turn the hot water down and seal your hair cuticles with colder water.

Properly Wash Your Hair

Being something that you do nearly daily, you probably don’t think much about how you wash your hair. We are here to remind everyone how important it is to take time to wash your hair correctly! Most people squirt on some shampoo, suds up, and rinse it out. Instead of this quick and not entirely useful technique, try massaging the shampoo on your scalp with your fingertips. This helps get rid of the oil and product buildup that is hiding by the roots. The roots and scalp are where you should focus your attention and allow the ends to to shampooed as you wash the shampoo down and out of your hair.
