Recognizing And Repairing Damaged Hair (Pt. 1)

February 11, 2018

Much of the time, people don’t give a lot of thought to how healthy or unhealthy their hair is, at least until it is really unhealthy that is. Treating damaged hair is harder to do than it is to prevent the problem in the first place, so consider some of the tips and ideas we have outlined to help you start living in a more proactive and healthy way all the time! The more time and effort you put into keeping your hair healthy and well cared for, the less problems you are going to have to treat later on. To help you get started on this kind of a new healthy hair journey, we put together some tips to help you recognize damage in your hair, how to fix it, and how to avoid such situations later on.

Mild hair problems are pretty common, such as being a bit extra frizzy on humid days, feeling a bit dry or full of static during the winter time when the air is dry and cold, but the rest of the time, you should be loving your hair for all the beauty and shine it gives off. If you start to notice that your hair is dry and full of static more often than not, you see a lot of split ends, your locks are looking more dull and brittle than they used to, and so on, these are some great signs your hair needs some help. Don’t ignore them! The longer you go without addressing damage in your hair, the harder it will be to restore your hair to a healthy state.

Salons have some incredible resources for restoring shine and increasing strength in damaged hair. One of the best steps you can take in rejuvenating your hair and restoring vitality is to consult with your stylist. Stylists have been trained and know what can help fix the problems you are having with your damaged hair. Salons typically have some really incredible hair masks or deep conditioning treatments that will give life back to your hair after one treatment and just a bit of your time. Plus, going in routinely every few months for a trim can really keep your hair in better shape by removing any split and damaged ends from frequent heat styling. Taking some of these proactive steps just might surprise you how much they help keep your hair in the proper and healthy condition that you want to have it in.

Check back in for the second part to this blog post for more tips and ideas to help you restore damaged hair and to avoid having to do more damage control later!
