5 Tips to Tame Frizzy Hair

Do you regularly experience frizzy hair? It's frustrating when you spend a half-hour or longer brushing and combing your hair, only for it to curl outwards with a mind of its own. While some women are more susceptible to frizzy hair than others, it's a common problem that nearly everyone will encounter during their life. Whether you experience frizzy hair on a daily or monthly basis, though, there are several things you can do to tame it.

#1) Wash With a Hydrating Shampoo

When washing your hair, consider using a hydrating shampoo. Frizz is typically the result of severe dehydration. If your hair has an insufficient amount of moisture, it may frizz. Hydrating shampoos counter the effects of dehydration by replenishing your hair's moisture.

#2) Use Conditioner

Along with a hydrating shampoo, using conditioner can help tame frizzy hair. The primary purpose of conditioner is to minimize friction between your individual hairs so that they are easier to brush and comb. To achieve this goal, however, they contain moisturizing agents. The moisturizing agents promote smoother, cleaner-looking hair that's easier to control and less susceptible to frizzing.

#3) Be Gentle When Drying

Gently drying your hair, as opposed to aggressively drying it, can also protect against frizzing. In other words, don't rub your hair too hard or fast with a towel to dry it. Instead, be gentle and use less force. Aggressively drying your hair will only make it more susceptible to frizzing by creating friction.

#4) Use an Anti-Frizz Product

There are hair products available that are designed specifically to eliminate and protect against frizzing. Known as anti-frizz products, they generally consist of serums or sprays that, when applied to the hair, create a protective and hydrating coating. If you constantly battle frizzing hair on a daily basis, you may want to try an anti-frizz product such as this.

#5) Choose High-Quality Coloring Products

If you're going to get your hair colored, don't underestimate the importance of a high-quality coloring product. Cheap, low-quality coloring products contain moisture-sapping ingredients that can dry out your hair. And if your hair is dry, it may frizz. With high-quality coloring products, such as those offered by professional salons, you can rest assured knowing that it won't dry out your hair.
